Identity

For this project I intend to explore hidden identities, beginning with the artists Annegret Soltau and Abigail McGuane. Both artists explore this topic by hiding aspects of their model's identities, however they do so in different ways. McGuane does so digitally, whereas Soltau does so physically using mixed media and sewing different images together. For my project inspired by Soltau I am interested in exploring the way in which she uses mixed media to create more exciting images. I intend on taking photos of myself and my family members as well as our facial features in order to later sew them together. For Abigail McGuane I want to explore her work both digitally and physically, however I have not yet decided how I am going to develop upon that work.
